Goodwill hosts fundraiser breakfast to raise money for community programs

ROANOKE, Va. – Goodwill Industries of the Valleys hosted a breakfast fundraiser Wednesday at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center.

The event was held to share the many community programs that they have to offer to the community.  

The goal of the breakfast fundraiser is to support training and employment programs to help teens, adults, and seniors get jobs and gain greater independence.  

10 News Director Marie Aprile emceed the event and described the benefits of Goodwill’s program. 

“They help fund local services, like discovery services that helps the disabled adults of the Valley,” said Aprile.

The event took place from 8 a.m. to noon. The organization encourages anyone interested to learn more about Goodwill are invited to come visit the local campus. 

“They also have programs that helps felons find greater independence through work and also it just helps people that want to get better education,” said Aprile.
