LYNCHBURG, Va. – A tractor-trailer driver has been charged with reckless driving after a wreck in Lynchburg sent a man to the hospital Thursday.
It happened around 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Route 460 and Concord Turnpike.
Police say that, according to witness statements, a tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on Route 460 when the driver ran a red light and hit a Hyundai Sonata on the driver's side of the vehicle.
The driver of the Hyundai, 58-year-old New Jersey resident Gregory Chapman, was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital. He is in critical but stable condition, according to police.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, 55-year-old New Jersey resident Oscar Abrego, is charged with reckless driving.
