Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today


Radford City Schools celebrates the 50th anniversary of Radford High School's football stadium.  Celebrations include a Taste of Radford Tailgate, where you can sample food from local restaurants.  Proceeds will benefit the Students vs. Cancer organization.  Game balls will drop from a helicopter and more.  Events begin at 4:30 p.m. on the practice field.

The City of Lynchburg will celebrate the completion of the first phase of the downtown utility and streetscape project.  The 16 month long project replaced aging water, sewer and storm utilities and streetscape improvements.  Project came in under the project $8.5 million budget.

Virginia Tech Softball holds its 4th annual Hit-a-thon.  Members of the team and celebrity hitters will try to hit the ball as far as they can to raise money for the program.
