MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Thousands of people are in Martinsville this weekend for the NASCAR playoff race. Events and camping got into full swing Friday. There are practices today starting at 11:30 a.m.
Qualifying starts at noon Sunday. The First Data 500 is set to begin at 3 p.m. at Martinsville Speedway.

This is the first of three races in the semifinal round of the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series. A win for any of the eight title-eligible drivers would automatically put them in the one-race championship.
