CVCC, Sweet Briar College offers co-enrollment for community college students

Program will begin in January for spring semester

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Central Virginia Community College is now entering into a co-enrollment agreement with Sweet Briar College. Administrators say this will give CVCC students the opportunity to test the waters at Sweet Briar before going there full-time. The partnership means students can take one to two classes at Sweet Briar for CVCC prices. Transfer counselors say, the co-enrollment is only for female students and they must apply to Sweet Briar before enrolling.

"So if this is an opportunity, you may not be sure about. This is a great way to learn if Sweet Briar is the right decision for you,” Emily Muniz, transfer counselor at CVCC, said.

"The bottom line is to get the student to the finish line. To get them graduated and to make sure they are successful,” Muriel Mickles, vice president academic of student affairs, said.

The program will officially begin in January for the spring semester.
