HENRY COUNTY, Va. – Governor Terry McAuliffe is touting Monogram Foods as a sign of what he calls the new Virginia economy.
Wednesday, the governor spoke to employees at the company's Henry County plant.
Afterward, he toured the plant.
He said he was impressed by what he saw.
"We talked about some of the future expansion plans. They have 60 openings right now. This is what's going on with the new Virginia economy. We've got a lot of jobs. We've got to fill those jobs. Our economy's on fire today," McAuliffe said.
After the tour, the governor toured the company's new clean energy plant, which just won a national award for converting the company's waste into energy.
