Carilion Palliative Care Unit in need of donated shawls for end-of-life patients

NOSO Knit event is Saturday for those who want to knit a shawl

ROANOKE, Va.

The Carilion Palliative Care Unit is in need of donated shawls to give to end-of-life patients and their families.

On Saturday, there's an event for folks to gather and knit.

Nurses at the care unite say they are short in supplies by about 50 percent.

The group is called NOSO Knit.

Volunteers knit year-round and the group is always looking for knitters as well as yarn donations.

If you would like to participate in the NOSO Knit event, it's tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Higher Education Center in Roanoke.
