ROANOKE, Va.- – A local brewery is getting ready to celebrate one year in business.
Twin Creeks Brewing Company started as a home brewery until the town the Vinton came calling.
The company says they've had a busy year and they are planning to expand their business for the next five years, bringing in more equipment to make more beer for their customers.
"The town and the folks around the community have been so supportive that we've had to expand fairly rapidly to keep up with the demand in the variety that we like to have," said Andy Bishop, owner and operator.
"Roanoke County didn't have a brewery at the time and the town of Vinton didn't have one at a time. So it was really an economic development function but also to develop a more sense of community within the town just as another place for folks to meet and and entertain," said Richard Peters, Vinton assistant town manager said.
To celebrate their one-year anniversary, they will host a celebration from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday with live music, special beer releases and food.
