Police identify man who died in suspicious Roanoke fire

ROANOKE, Va. – Roanoke police have released the name of the 48-year-old man who died Saturday morning.

Police are still investigating the death of Luis Enrique Morales, of Roanoke, as a homicide.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information, or anyone who might have been acquainted with or a friend of Morales who can provide details on his recent activities, is encouraged to call police at 540-853-5959.

A man's death in a suspicious fire Saturday has been ruled homicide, according to the Roanoke medical examiner.

The fire happened in the 300 block of Westside Boulevard NW on Saturday morning.

Detectives are making the needed notifications, and the victim's identity will be released after those notifications have been made.

The investigation into the homicide, as well as the joint investigation with Roanoke Fire-EMS, into the cause of the fire, are both ongoing at this time.
