BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. – A Bedford County grand jury indicted two men charged in connection with the death of 17-year-old Raymond Wood on multiple counts, including capital murder.
Robbery, abduction for pecuniary benefit and participation in a criminal act in association with a criminal street gang are among the new charges Tuesday for 20-year-old Kevin Josue Soto Bonilla and 22-year-old Cristian Jose Sanchez Gomez.
The two men's preliminary hearings scheduled for Nov. 20 will no longer take place as the original charges were dropped and a new date for their initial court appearance has yet to be set.
Both men are now being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail system.
A total of five people have now been charged in the murder, which happened on Roaring Run Road on March 27.
