Police: Teenage boy in custody after Virginia officer shot
PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Police in Virginia say a teenage boy is in custody after a police officer was shot multiple times Monday.
Portsmouth police said in a statement that the female officer was taken to a hospital.
At 8:21 p.m., Portsmouth police tweeted the officer is out of surgery and is listed in critical, but stable condition.
The shooting occurred about 2:45 p.m. on Hickory Street.
