HENRY COUNTY, Va. – A new jail in Henry County is one step closer to reality.
The county has purchased 20 acres of land on the former DuPont factory property for just over $400,000.
DuPont is also donating another 10 acres.
The county has also issued a contract for architectual work for the jail.
The state Department of Corrections will now take the county's plans before the General Assembly in early 2018 for final approval.
