No students in danger after social media threat at Tunstall High School
PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – The Pittsylvania County Sheriffs Office is investigating what it says is an isolated social media threat planned for Tunstall High School.
Deputies and investigators, along with the Pittsylvania school administration, quickly identified the allegations Thursday and determined it was an isolated incident and that no students were ever in danger.
The Sheriff's Office has received multiple calls from parents and guardians in reference to picking up their children earlier than normal dismissal; however, that determination is not made by the sheriff's office.
At this time, the Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the origin of the social media threat and will consult with the Commonwealth Attorney in the event any charges would be forthcoming.
Anyone with information is asked to call 434-432-7931.
