Danville police have 'some leads' in two separate Tuesday shooting incidents

Two men, one house shot within about 1 1/2 hours

DANVILLE, Va. – Two separate shootings remained under investigation in Danville on Wednesday.

Officers responded to the first incident in the 1000 block of Paxton Street around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

One man was found shot in the leg and another was found shot in the hand.

Both were taken to Sovah Health in Danville and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

About 1 1/2 hours later, a home in the 500 block of Third Avenue was hit by gunfire.

There were people inside the home, but no one was hurt.

Danville Police Department Lt. Mike Wallace said that as of Wednesday there was no evidence to suggest the incidents are related.

"That certainly is something that we will want to look at. If nothing else, because they were so close together in a time frame," Wallace said. "Right now, there's not a whole lot of information out there but we do have some leads that we're looking into."

Call the Danville Police Department if you have any information.
