New contract approved for Danville Regional Airport fixed base operator

City council approved contract at Tuesday night council meeting

DANVILLE, Va. – The current fixed base operator at Danville Regional Airport will remain in business for the next year and a half.

On Tuesday night, Danville city council members approved a new contract for General Aviation.

The previous contract expired in June.

Earlier this year, the airport commission recommended that the city have Averett University take over, but pushback from the community persuaded council members otherwise.
