Travelers flying out of ROA airport say they weren't notified of flight delays

ROANOKE, Va.

As more snow continues to fall around the region, travelers at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport are experiencing flight delays.

Some travelers going out of the airport said their flight was delayed by several hours Friday afternoon.

Rick Coleman, who was traveling out of Roanoke, said he had no idea that there was a schedule change for his flight. “We were delayed from a 2:05 p.m. departure to a 5:45 p.m. But we never got any notification of it. It's frustrating when you're sitting at the gate and you find out by accident that you're delayed. There was nobody at the gate, no announcements, nothing. So yeah, it's pretty frustrating,” Coleman said.

Airport administrators said that it is up to the airlines to notify their passengers of flight changes.
