ROANOKE – Carnival rides are moving into the streets of downtown Roanoke, as the city prepares for week two of Dickens of a Christmas. It's a way to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Dickens event in Roanoke .
There will be several big rides, such as a Ferris wheel, a kid's roller coaster, a carousel and more. In all, there will be about 10 rides and a handful of carnival games.
Setup is scheduled to last throughout the day before the carnival officially kicks off at 6 p.m. Unlimited ride wristbands are $5. Adults accompanying a child can ride for free.
