Where Moorefield was coming from or going to was still under investigation Monday.

The driver did stop after hitting Moorefield, and as of Monday afternoon no charges had been filed.

"We have some witnesses that we are talking to that are cooperative, as well as the driver's been cooperative," Danville Police Department Lt. Mike Wallace said.

"I want to be correct when I do release something and the only way to do that for sure is for the investigation to be over," Wallace continued.

He said he didin't know when the investigation would be over, but didn't expect it to take very long.
