Roanoke police investigate Wells Fargo robbery


ROANOKE, Va. – Roanoke police are investigating a bank robbery.

Officers responded to the Wells Fargo branch on the 1300 block of Hershberger Road around 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police say a man handed a teller a note demanding money and took out what appeared to be a handgun. He then grabbed cash and ran out of the door in the direction of the Taco Bell. 

No one was hurt. 

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s, 6'0" to 6'2", weighing approximately 200 pounds with a beard.
