LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty University is preparing for its 16th annual Winterfest event. Attendees can expect to ring in the New Year with big name bands like Switchfoot, inspirational speakers and comedians like John Crist during New Year’s Eve weekend. Organizers say they are prepared to cater to about 7,000 people, with hotels surrounding the university booked and ready to accommodate.
“You don't know want to miss it. We're talking about people who you may have to drive to D.C. or Charlotte to come see. But they're coming right here to your very own backyard. We'd love to pack this place out,” James Hobson, Winterfest coordinator, said.
