Virginia mother, son among dead in Mexico bus crash
Family lived in Lorton, Virginia
MEXICO CITY – A Northern Virginia mother and her son were among the multiple U.S. citizens who died while on a bus carrying cruise ship passengers in Mexico, according to NBC Washington.
Anna and Daniel Beharand, of Lorton, Virginia, died in Tuesday's crash, a family member told the NBC affiliate.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that her husband, Moises Behar, was hospitalized.
The bus carrying tourists from cruise ships that were docked in Mahahual to Mayan ruins flipped over Tuesday morning.
The Associated Press reports that 12 people were killed, including a Mexican tour guide.
The passengers involved in the crash were guests on the Royal Caribbean cruise ships Celebrity Equinox and Serenade of the Seas.
