ROANOKE – Wythe County Board of Supervisors meets tonight. On the agenda is an update to the Rural Retreat Lake lease between the county and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries... And the Rural Retreat Fairgrounds lease.
There's also an idea of starting a "Cigarette Taxation Coalition" according to board documents, saying Wythe, Montgomery and Pulaski Counties are interested in possibly adding a tax on cigarettes. The county has been talking with a consulting firm and the tax could bring in extra revenue for the county.
