Police investigating New Year's Eve armed robbery at Lynchburg IHOP

Police were called about 10:30 p.m.

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Lynchburg police are investigating a New Year's Eve armed robbery at IHOP.

About 10:30 p.m., police responded to the restaurant on Fort Avenue for a report of an armed robbery.

The robber entered the store, showed a handgun, demanded money and ran away from the restaurant toward Wards Road with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

Authorities say no one was injured.

The department's Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the robbery.
