She's International collecting coats for homeless in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va.- – Some people who may be getting overlooked during this harsh winter season are the homeless. Because of that, a local clothing store is making an effort to help them bundle up during the cold weather.

She's International is collecting coats, jackets, gloves and scarves for homeless children and adults. This is for its "Baby it's Cold Outside" campaign to give warm clothing to the Homeless Assistance Team on Salem Avenue.

"Roanoke City is very good about taking care of our homeless people. But the last few days, as you know, it has been freezing. Some of them had not had anything on but a sweater. One guy had on a pair of shorts. So we always try to do something to help the community," Diane Speaks said.

She's International already dropped off more than 20 coats but will be collecting more until the end of the month.
