Angels of Assisi expanding its hours

ROANOKE, Va. – Angels of Assisi is expanding its services. Starting this weekend, the low-cost animal clinic will be open seven days a week.

The clinic has hired a weekend veterinarian and will offer additional lab services with a shorter turnaround time.

The organization's director of the adoption, Matthew Brown, says this has been a goal of theirs for some time.

“There aren't a lot of vets opened on especially Sundays in the area with the exception of the emergency clinic,” said Brown. “Due to the nature of their services they can be really expensive so we are trying to offer an alternative to something that can be treated in our facility.”

Last year, Angels of Assisi serviced more than 40,000 animals and conducted more than 2,000 adoptions.
