Trial date set for man accused of murdering Heather Heyer during Unite the Right rally

All the charges Fields faces are felonies

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – A trial date is set for the man accused of killing Heather Heyer and injuring others during August's Unite the Right rally, according to NBC29

A three-week jury trial for James Alex Fields Jr. is scheduled to begin Nov. 26.

The Charlottesville NBC affiliate reports that Fields, who is charged with first-degree murder, five counts of malicious wounding, three counts of aggravated malicious wounding and failure to stop in event of injury or death, appeared via video conference for a status hearing on Wednesday.

All the charges he faces are felonies.

Fields is accused of ramming a car into a group of people marching in the area of 4th and Water streets to protest Jason Kessler's rally.

Authorities said a total of 36 people were injured, some seriously, including 32-year-old Heyer, who later died.
