As a result of an ongoing investigation spanning several months, several individuals have been charged with various offenses, according to police.

The ATF, U.S. Marshals Service, Virginia State Police, and Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office are among the agencies that the Danville Police Department worked with to make arrests.

Police say that several of the 30 were arrested throughout the day.

The drug charges include possession or distribution of marijuana, heroin, cocaine and prescription medications. The firearms-related charges involve false statements on paperwork associated with the purchase of a firearm, as well as straw purchases, which were all acts intended to illegally acquire firearms.
