PHCC head baseball coach leaves for job with Minnesota Twins

Frank Jagoda will be team's rehab coach

HENRY COUNTY, Va. – A Southside baseball coach is being called up to the big leagues.

Patrick Henry Community College head baseball coach Frank Jagoda has just been hired as the Minnesota Twins' rehab coach.

Jagoda will work with players who need any kind of on-field rehab.

He'll also be a pitching coach for the rookie minor league's Gulf Coast League.

Jagoda said the decision to leave PHCC one month before opening day was emotional.

"Being at Patrick Henry Community College has helped provide me this opportunity. So, my first thought was, of course, to my wife, Tara, and my family and how we would deal with that transition. Then, of course, it immediately went to my players," Jagoda said.

He leaves for Florida next week to start preparing for spring training.
