CHESTERFIELD, Va. – A girl was killed when she was hit by a pickup truck while sledding Thursday afternoon in Chesterfield, officials with the Chesterfield Police Department said.
Police said the girl was sledding down a driveway at 2:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of Mistwood Forest Drive when she slid into the path of a Toyota Tacoma. The truck hit the girl and the driver immediately stopped.

She was taken to the hospital, where she died of her injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, according to police.
