Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today


The Rockbridge area Chamber of Commerce holds its annual State of the Community breakfast this morning.  Leaders from Lexington, Rockbridge County and Buena Vista as well as state legislators will talk about events from 2017 and look ahead to 2018.

Governor Terry McAuliffe will make several stops in southwest Virginia today.  He will make an economic development announcement at 10 a.m. at GE's Fairchild Mining Equipment plant in Glen Lyn.  He will also visit the Historic Masonic Theater in Clifton Forge before getting an update on the city of Covington's drone project.

Altec will hold a job fair today from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. as it looks to hire welders, electricians, engineers and more.  In October, we reported the company would expand operations in Botetourt County.  It will spend $30 million and hire more than 180 people.  Altec makes aerial lift trucks for electric companies.
