Two men arrested in connection with Lynchburg convenience store robbery

Robbery happened Friday morning

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Authorities arrested two men in connection with a robbery in Lynchburg on Friday morning.

Just after 6:30 a.m., police responded to the Speedway at 3001 Wards Road for a reported robbery.

Two men walked into the convenience store, demanded money, left with an undisclosed amount of cash and drove away in a gold Infiniti sedan.

A short time later, police located the vehicle parked in the 1600 block of Wards Ferry Road at an apartment complex.

Officers acquired two search warrants and executed them, which led to the arrest of 19-year-old Chaz Smith and 20-year-old Andrew House. Both men are from Lynchburg.

Smith is charged with felony robbery, felony possession of a controlled substance, two counts of felony intent to distribute a controlled substance, felony possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

House faces two felony charges, robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

Both men taken were to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
