Danville call center to pay more than $1 million on lease after closing

Telvista is laying off hundreds of employees

DANVILLE, Va. – A Danville call center will still have to pay more than $1 million after it closes in March.

According to the city's economic development department, the company is legally required to honor the remainder of its lease on the building.

That means the company will have to pay nearly $50,000 a month through February 2020.

The company also has to forfeit its equity in the building.

As 10 News has reported, Telvista plans to close its Danville facility permanently on March 7th and lay off the roughly 300 employees there.
