House fire displaces 2 adults, 2 dogs in Roanoke

The owners of the house weren't at home during the fire

ROANOKE, Va. – Two people are without a home after a fire Saturday night.

Roanoke Fire and EMS says it happened in the 3700 block of Springvale Street around 7 p.m., according to the organization's Twitter page.

The fire began in the basement and spread to the upper floors.

Luckily, the two adults and two dogs who live there were not home at the time.

The Red Cross is assisting.

The cause is under investigation.
