Ram on the lam: Stray ram captured in Danville

Ram brought to Danville Area Humane Society last week

DANVILLE, Va. – There's an unusual animal at the Danville Area Humane Society.

A ram was brought in last week as a stray.

It was found on Halifax Road.

A homeowner was able to safely tie it up until the Danville Police Department's animal control officer was able to come get it.

The humane society has no idea where it came from, and as of Monday afternoon no tips had come in about who it belongs to.

If no one claims the ram, the humane society will try to adopt it out, possibly to a petting zoo.

"After his stray time, by the strict definition of the code, we may have to go to general district court and get a judge's order to be able to find him a home," DAHS Executive Director Paulette Dean said.

If you have any information, contact the humane society at 434-799-0843.
