What's News Today: January 16, 2018

Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today

Lynchburg City Schools will hold a public hearing about its operating budget for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.  You will be able to give your thoughts about priorities for the new year.  The meeting begins at 5:30 at the School Administration Building.

The Salem Economic Development Authority meets this afternoon.  The meeting begins at 3 p.m. at City Hall.

The Pulaski County School Board holds a budget work session today.  Members will review the Governor's proposed budget for the next fiscal year, which starts on July 1st.  

Roanoke City Council will discuss amending its Special Events Policy.  The new policy is intended to protect the health and safety of citizens, limit inconveniences and establish a system of accountability.  It states deadlines for applications, the permit application process and appeals procedures.
