BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Blacksburg Police Department's first K-9, Chesty, has died.
Chesty, a Belgian Malinois, joined the department in July 2007 and was retired in August 2014.

After retirement, he lived with Officer Combs and his family.
Blacksburg Police Department has lost one of its own. Chesty was the first K-9 the Blacksburg Police Department had. Chesty was a Belgian Malinois. Chesty came to work at Blacksburg Police Department in July 2007. He was retired in August of 2014 and lived the last three years of his life with Officer Combs and his family.
