Deputies make arrest after Henry County man stabbed multiple times

Henry County deputies have arrested a man accused of stabbing someone multiple times after an argument.

Around 11:25 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to King's Court Motel in Ridgeway for a reported stabbing. 

The victim, 29-year-old Ridgeway resident Joseph Cody Bowers, told deputies that he was riding in a vehicle with 26-year-old Bassett resident Justin Gregory Wingfield when they got into an argument. As they arrived at the motel, Bowers said Wingfield stabbed him multiple times in the upper chest and arm. 

Bowers had to be taken to Sovah Health Martinsville, where he was treated and released. 

Deputies arrested Wingfield at the scene and charged him with malicious wounding, which is a felony. He is being held at the Henry County Jail without bond.
