NELSON COUNTY, Va. – State police say a Carroll County man died on the scene of a car crash on the Blue Ridge Parkway Saturday afternoon.
According to police, the crash happened around 4 p.m., a few miles south of Route 814 in Nelson County.

The driver of a 2005 Toyota 4Runner ran off the highway and hit several trees.
The driver, Fancy Gap resident Reid D. Ostrander, did not survive the crash. He was 65 years old.
State police say he was not wearing his seatbelt.
