Rocky Mount woman charged with shooting man after argument

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – UPDATE

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has identified the woman they say shot a man after an argument. 

Deputies responded to a report of a gunshot wound around 3 a.m. Monday in the area of Bonbrook Mill Road and Wirtz Road. 

Kimberly Ann Morgan-Lefever, 45, of Rocky Mount, is charged with malicious wounding. She was the one who made the 911 call. 

According to the sheriff's office, Morgan-Lefever shot a 47-year-old man in the hand, and then grazed his head. 

The man is expected to survive. 

Morgan-Lefever is being held in the Western Virginia Regional Jail without bond. 

She may soon face additional charges.

Franklin County deputies are investigating a shooting Monday morning. 

Authorities have put up crime tape in the area of Bonbrook Mill Road and Wirtz Road, which is close to Rehoboth Church.

The suspect is in custody and the victim is expected to survive, according to the sheriff's office. Neither person has been named yet.
