Two people shot in SW Roanoke overnight
Shooting happened in same neighborhood as fatal shooting a week earlier
ROANOKE – Roanoke City police are investigating gunfire in the same neighborhood for a second week in a row.
Police on scene told 10 News shots were reported around 12:15 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Maple Avenue. Two people were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
According to Roanoke City police, officers found one juvenile shot on scene.
The juvenile was taken by Roanoke Fire-EMS to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injury. A short time later, a man arrived at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital also with gunshot wounds associated with this incident.
Police have not revealed the victim’s names, or said whether they are searching for a suspect. Officers say neither wounded man is cooperating with the investigation.
An officer on the scene told 10 News he believes the shooting happened at the exact same home where 28-year-old Milton Roman was killed only 8 days ago. Roman was shot Saturday, Feb. 2..
