Man wanted on felony charges arrested after barricading himself inside home, authorities say

Sheriff's office says man was wanted for assaulting law enforcement

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. – A man is in custody after barricading himself inside an Amherst County home Monday, according to the Amherst County Sheriff's Office. 

Deputies say they went to a home on Tyree Circle in Madison Heights to serve a felony warrant to John Dundon, who was wanted for assault on law enforcement according to the sheriff's office.

Dundon then barricaded himself inside the home after he was contacted by the deputies attempting to serve the warrant, according to authorities. 

Authorities say a special response team was called to the scene but before they went inside the home, Dundon surrendered.
