Thanks to the wintry weather, trees have fallen onto power lines in Roanoke County, closing several roads.
The trees fell onto power lines at Thompson Memorial Drive and Dunford Drive and in the 2200 block of Catawba Valley Drive, according to Roanoke County police.
Authorities do not know when the roads will be reopened, and there is no option to divert traffic.
There is also a large tree that took down power lines, completely blocking the road in the 2300 block of Catawba Road. Authorities say it will likely be an extended cleanup.
Police are asking drivers to avoid the areas.
