ROANOKE, Va. – Roanoke Fire-EMS crews have determined the cause of a fire at the McDonald's on Franklin Road to be improperly disposed of smoking materials in the mulch which found a void space into an exterior wall.
The E-911 Center received the call about the incident just after 7:30 Saturday night.
Firefighters originally said it appeared to be an electrical fire.
No one was injured.
The restaurant closed for the night as investigators worked to determine the exact cause.
