19-year-old charged after head-on crash with Pittsylvania County school bus

One student being taken to hospital for minor injuries by a parent


PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – A Pittsylvania County school bus was involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon, according to Virginia State Police. 

Authorities say the two-vehicle crash happened at 3:12 p.m. on Banister Road when the bus was hit head-on by a 2001 Toyota Camry.

The driver, Corey Reynolds, 19, of Chatham, was wearing his seat belt and was not injured, according to police. He now faces one charge of reckless driving.

The bus had 15 students on board ranging in age from 5 to 11 years old, according to officials.

State police say that there were no injuries to any of the students
