Three charged after shots fired into an occupied car in Northwest Roanoke, police say

Only two out of three charged with shooting into an occupied car

ROANOKE, Va.UPDATE 

Three people are in custody after police say two of them shot into an occupied car Wednesday morning in Northwest Roanoke. 

An officer was patrolling in the area of Massachusetts Avenue NW just after 2 a.m. when he heard several shots fired. 

The officer says he radioed for backup and started heading toward where he thought the gunshots came from. 

Authorities found several people outside a home in the 2800 block of Clifton Street NW. 

Early investigations show two people from the home shot a gun into an occupied car that was on the street in front of the home, according to police. Authorities say no injuries were reported. 

Deandra Simon, 31, Eric Simon, 31, and Joshua Carson were all arrested and charged in connection with the incident. 

Deandra Simon has been charged with discharging a gun in city limits, shooting into an occupied vehicle and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. 

Eric Simon has been charged with possession of a concealed firearm, discharging a firearm in city limits, shooting into an occupied car and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. 

Carson was charged with possession of a concealed weapon.

Authorities say Roanoke officers are currently investigating a shots fired call that came in Wednesday morning. 

Officers are at the scene in the 1300 block of Abbott Street. 

Police say the call came in around 2:08 a.m.
