Authorities investigating after driver hits guardrail, runs off road in Amherst County

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. – Authorities are investigating after a crash in Amherst County Thursday morning, according to the sheriff's office. 

Deputies say the driver was on US-29 when they hit a guardrail and ran off the road near the Sweetbriar exit just before 4:30 a.m.

Authorities say deputies were able to get the man out of the car, but there is no word on the extent of his injuries.
