Gov. Youngkin issues flag order to honor fallen firefighters

Flags will be lowered until sunset on Sunday, Oct. 9

Gov. Glenn Youngkin ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

This comes after President Biden’s Presidential Proclamation to lower federal flags for the service.

The memorial service has been a tribute to fallen firefighters for decades. Thousands come to pay tribute to fallen heroes all weekend long.

Flags will be lowered to half-staff until sunset on Sunday.
