Appalachian Power restores power to most in Roanoke, Roanoke County

ROANOKE, Va. – UPDATE 9:25 a.m. 

Appalachian Power is now reporting 450 Roanoke County customers without power and 274 in Roanoke City. 

That's down from a peak of over 5,000. 

UPDATE

Appalachian Power has restored power to thousands of customers after flash flooding created problems.

There are still over 1,100 customers without power in Roanoke County and over 400 in Roanoke City.

As of 8:30 p.m., over 5,000 without power in the Roanoke and Roanoke County areas.

Appalachian Power is reporting over 1,300 without power in the Cave Spring area of Roanoke.

There's no word on the company's outage map when power should be restored.
