Bedford County Fire and Rescue save injured hiker on the Blue Ridge Parkway

According to the Twitter post, rescuers needed rope equipment to reach the hiker

Bedford County Fire and Rescue say they were flagged down to save an injured hiker on the James River Sunday.

According to the rescue crews Twitter post, units were on the river and had to use lowering equipment to get to the hiker.

The medics helped the hiker, and sent them to the hospital.

No word on exactly what the hiker's injuries are.
