ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Carilion is giving kids with chronic and critical illnesses the chance to go to camp.
It's the 16th year for the Carilion Children's Family Camp, which is an opportunity for kids to focus on fun and not their medical problems.
One family taking part in the camp said us it's something they look forward to every year.
"Catherine has had the medical issues in the past, but this is an event for the entire family and we all get to have fun," said  her father Frank Ray.
"It's fun and has lots of activities," commented camper Catherine Ray. "I like it all."
At camp doctors are available around the clock to help if there's a medical emergency. It goes until Sunday.
